Champion's pilot kit

Launch your office league in four weeks.

You're the champion — the person who gets the run going. This is everything you need: a week-by-week plan, announcements you can send as-is, a poster for the break room, and answers to the one question everyone asks.

01  The four-week rollout

Small and steady beats a big-bang launch. One department, one good run, then let the rivalry pull the rest in.

WEEK 1

Set it up

  • Create your organization in the app (tap your avatar → Organization → "Or start one").
  • Add your work-email domain so colleagues get the verified badge automatically.
  • Create your first department crew and pick one weekly day, time and court.
  • Share the join link in one channel to a small, keen group first.
WEEK 2

Run the first game

  • Play. Score it live from the court — the standings write themselves.
  • Post a photo and the final score in the crew thread afterward.
  • Ask each player to bring one coworker to the next run.
WEEK 3

Start the rivalry

  • Help a second department set up its own crew (Parks vs Public Works, Eng vs Sales).
  • Use "⚔️ Challenge" on the org home to call them out — both teams get the card.
  • Put up the poster (below) in break rooms and by the elevators.
WEEK 4

Make it a habit

  • Pin the recurring run so RSVPs are one tap, every week.
  • Post the first standings in your all-staff channel — the Department Cup sells itself.
  • At month's end, share the participation report with leadership (it's one tap in the app).

Email — "We're starting an office league"

Subject: 🏀 We're starting a [SPORT] league — first run [DAY]

Team,

We're kicking off a friendly office league, department vs department, and you're invited — all skill levels, no commitment beyond showing up when you can.

How it works:
• We use Pickup (free). Join here: https://pickupcg.com/org/[YOUR-CODE]
• RSVP in one tap. First run is [DAY] at [TIME], [LOCATION].
• Your department climbs the standings just by showing up — winning is a bonus.

Join your department's crew, and let's see who's got next.

First run: [DAY] [TIME] @ [LOCATION]. One-tap RSVP, all levels welcome.

Finance has next. Does Parks? :eyes:

03  The break-room poster

Generate a printable poster with your organization's join code as a scannable QR — put it where people wait for coffee. Open this on your phone after you've created the org, or swap the code in the link.

04  What employees ask

What can my employer see about me?

Your department's games, who showed up, and the standings — the same things everyone on the team sees. Pickup does not share your location, your personal games, or anything outside the office league with your employer. Champions see participation totals, not tracking.

Do I have to be good at sports?

No. The Activity Cup rewards showing up, not winning — a department climbs just by fielding players. There's a casual mode for runs where nobody keeps score.

Is it really free?

Yes. The app is free for your whole organization during the pilot. No per-seat fees.

Do I need to give a personal phone number or email?

You sign in with Apple or an email of your choice. Using your work email just earns the "verified" badge; it's optional.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You can delete your account and data any time in the app (Settings → Delete account). See our privacy policy and security page.
